COMMUNION
Communion was Jesus’ way to show us how to remember what he did for us on the cross, and teach us how to reflect and celebrate how He saved us.
God, who is perfect, took on human form in Jesus and paid the penalty for our sin (which is death) so that when we repent (u-turn from sin) and believe that Jesus is who he says he is, we are saved forever. In communion the bread and wine (or juice) symbolize Jesus’ body and blood that was broken and shed to take our punishment on himself. Jesus taught us to take “communion” with other people while remembering how he made a way for us to be saved from our sins, and be with Jesus forever!
